About Me - Zeth

Disclaimer: I am very out of practice making a personal webspace,
so this page will perpetually look unfinished as I slowly work on it.

Introduction

"Greetings, adventurer! Welcome to my little corner of the web. I'm Zeth, an avid explorer of all things intriguing and a self-proclaimed serial hobbyist. I have an insatiable curiosity that drives me to dive headfirst into a diverse mishmash of interests.

Picture me as perpetually curious, on a good day. From delving into DIY projects ranging from geeky to practical (sometimes both) with dubious success rates to unleashing my not-so-expert crafting skills that may leave a few glue stains here and there, I'm all about embracing the joy of creative experimentation and finding novel solutions. I am of the philosophy that very little is beyond understanding given enough research, opportuinty, and intuition

Obligatorially, I'll briefly describe my politics. While I can't boast about holding high political office or being an expert pundit, I can proudly say that I'm passionate about creating a better world—one baby step at a time. Instead of forcing a lengthy manifesto of my beliefs, I will include a few bulletpoints to provide a brief overivew of the kind of person I am:

  • Healthcare should be a human right.
  • Citizens United was a devastating blow to democracy.
  • Education should not be a for-profit enterprise.
  • All humans have inherent value, even the shitty ones.
  • Mixing Religion and Government is a guarenteed catastrophy.
  • We should all try to eat less things that can feel pain.
  • As a vicarious tech enthusiast, I'm fascinated (and slightly terrified) by the mind-boggling possibilities that artificial intelligence offers. While I won't claim to be a cutting-edge AI wizard (yet), I'm like a kid in a sci-fi candy store, eagerly exploring the latest advancements and dreaming about the AI-powered future that awaits us. While I understand and empathize with the impact AI-generated art can have on career artists (as someone who has considered pursuing art as a career), the technology itself is very exciting and--used as a tool, rather than a replacement, for artists--inspiring in how it can make creativity accessible to many more folks.

I should mention my strange infatuation with languages. Now, don't expect me to be fluent in ten languages or anything. I'm just a humble language enthusiast, stumbling my way through Spanish, marveling at the beauty of Japanese kana and kanji, and revelling in the unique expressiveness of sign language. Languages open doors to new cultures, and I love the idea of having keys to all these facinating worlds.

Above all, what truly drives me is the art of creative problem-solving. I may not have all the answers, but I'm a firm believer in the power of a quirky idea and an unyielding determination to find straightforward solutions to life's absurdly complex problems. I strongly advocate for the adventure of embracing our quirks, exploring the unknown, and celebrating the joy of unapologetic curiosity.

So, dear visitor, thank you for taking the time to read through my little clump of data out here in the digital ether.
